Rebecca Faggett

“Rebecca, please pronounce your last name.” “It’s okay! I got you! Fuh-Jay.” Elephant in the room, gone!

The relationship with our parents. Our childhood friendships. Our first boss. The college sweetheart. We were not created to live life alone. Our brains are wired for connection. We learn, grow, endure, and flourish in relationship with others. Relationships can be both beautiful and difficult and when relationships are challenging our awareness of our need for emotional safety and support grows. Realizing this need is a sign that something is deeply good and right.

As one realizes their need for health and support through counseling, finding a therapist that you can truly connect and feel safe with can be a daunting task or even frustrating. Beginning the journey to wholeness and wellness is a courageous.

Vulnerability can be difficult, whether it be with yourself, your spouse, or your family. When we are overwhelmed our natural tendency is to withdraw and isolate—to run away from ourselves or the people around us. As a relational/systems therapist, Rebecca works within the context of your relational world. Rebecca helps you gain insight into yourself through your relationships to help you create honest, open, and transparent spaces.

Rebecca’s counseling interests include working with individuals, couples, and families addressing anxiety, trauma, and relational difficulties. Rebecca is also passionate about working with African American men, women and couples facing difficulties related to intergenerational trauma and pain, anxiety, self-esteem, perfectionism as well as emotional regulation and communication issues in marriages and committed relationships. Rebecca enjoys working with clients who are committed and motivated to learn new healthy ways of healing and growing.

The Beginning

The name Good Roots reflects something I believe deeply:

Lasting change rarely comes from treating symptoms alone.

It comes from understanding the roots beneath them.

Good Roots Counseling was created as a space for adults and couples to explore the patterns, experiences, and relationships that have shaped them and to begin building something healthier moving forward.

Why I Care

Because you deserve someone who you don't have to edit yourself with while sharing the most tender parts of your soul. You deserve to be in space, in all your humanity, your joy and pain and laughter. I am not perfect but I promise to be intentional in creating safety in this space for you.
